Overview
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program is designed to develop skilled, innovative, and inquisitive professionals dedicated to addressing complex public health challenges and promoting population health. This interdisciplinary program typically spans two years of full-time study combining classroom learning with practical experience and research opportunities. They are taught the preventive, curative, and promotive aspects of and become familiar with the tools available for implementation including health communications and informatics, applications of social and behavioral sciences, and health policy and bioethics. Students will evaluate methods for addressing non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases, environmental diseases, and injury. The thesis defense caps off academic learning, demonstrating mastery of research and critical thinking. Overall, the MPH program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing graduates for leadership roles in promoting community health, addressing global health challenges, and contributing to evidence-based health policy and practice.
